According to recent research, people are now starting to believe that the wrappers that burgers are wrapped in at fast food restaurants are bad for you. apparently, these burger wrappers contain harmful chemicals known as perfluoroalkyl substances. And coming into contact with them or being exposed to them is said to slow down your metabolism which in return leads to weight gain.

The reason why these specific wrappers are used to wrap the food of most fast food restaurants in the United States is that the material prevents grease and other ingredients from leaking everywhere. The chemicals in the wrappers are absorbed into the burgers or whatever food is inside the wrap causing these chemicals to be ingested by the consumer, causing your metabolism to slow down over a long period of time.

This to me is ridiculous that the manufactures of the food wrappers weren't aware that these chemicals could contaminate the food that is contained inside them and then which is consumed by a human being resulting in issues with your own personal heath. This is also quite scary knowing how many fast food chains use these wrappers to wrap their food as well and now leave us wondering how long has these chemicals been silently affecting our bodies.
