Uber is a peer-to-peer ride-sharing app that includes food delivery. This transportation network company is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and operates in 633 cities worldwide. With the ride sharing company Uber becoming such a widely used service since its debut in March of 2009, Uber is in the process of working on self-driving Ubers. Last month, Uber settled for a $245 million dollar lawsuit after Uber’s self-driving car hit a 49 year old woman named Elaine Herzberg who was walking outside of a crosswalk in Arizona. The vehicle was traveling at 40 miles per hour when it hit her and she was taken to the hospital where she later passed away.

Upon this event happening, Republican Governor Doug Ducey signed an executive order that makes companies operating self driving vehicles responsible for anything that happens while on the road, including murder.

This recent event has thrown quite a dent in the reputation of the ride sharing company Uber, as it is such a popular service that is used by millions of people around the county daily. Personally, this recent event is quite shocking to me, I personally use Uber quite a lot, especially before I could legally drive myself.
